• For those who enjoy the great outdoors, the region has ample opportunities, including hiking, mountain biking and water sports in the beautiful countryside to be found not far from local towns. If you like to walk there are 800 km of mapped hiking trails throughout the foothills and nearby mountains.
• Both traditional hiking and the increasingly popular mountain biking are well catered for. A dense road network and newly made cycling routes in the foothills, as well as on the mountain edges, contribute to it. There are many summer resorts throughout the region well worth visiting, e.g. Bystrice pod Olsi, Mosty u Jablunkova, Lomna, Frydlant nad Ostravici, Moravka, Roznov pod Radhostem, Dolni a Horni Becva, Visalaje and Bila.
