The town of Koprivnice is situated in the north-eastern part of the Czech Republic in the Northern Moravia Region, 30 km south-west of Ostrava city. Koprivnice belongs to the Novy Jicin district. Within 1-hour's drive of Koprivnice are the surrounded districts of Ostrava, Opava and Frydek-Mistek (in the Moravian-Silesian Region), the Vsetin district (in the Zlin Region) and the Prerov district (in the Olomouc Region).
The town lies in the foothills of the Beskydy Mountains. The Koprivnicka stream flows through the town before entering the Lubina River. The topography is dominated by the Red and White Mountains which provide a picturesque backdrop to Koprivnice. They are also represented by the symbolic colouring of the Town's Coat of Arms.
Apart from the modern towns and its amenities the Koprivnice locality has a beautiful unspoiled hinterland which provides numerous leisure and recreational opportunities to satisfy all of the family.
